Saba is part of the Caribbean Netherlands and rises from the Caribbean Sea to a height of 887m, the highest point in the Dutch Kingdom. Saba has an area of 13 km2 with about 2000 inhabitants, including about 500 medical students. The quiet and beautiful island is also known as "The Unspoiled Queen" as the streets are not crowded with mass tourism. Instead locals and visitors alike bask in the island’s natural wonders such as the tropical rainforest and marine life. The official language spoken on Saba is English.

The medical care on Saba is supplied by the Saba Health Care Foundation from the Medical Center in The Bottom. We offer 24/7 emergency service with our ER and ambulances. Our Clinic has a team of Island Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurses to tend to our patients. Next to our Island Physicians, visiting specialists and paramedics have monthly or bimonthly clinics at our medical center.

The Home Health team delivers nursing care to our community in their own homes.

Our admission ward allows us to admit patients who need hospitalized care and our facility is fitted with radiology and ultrasound.

We have our own laboratory where seventy percent of tests are completed on island, the others are sent out and completed off island at St. Maarten Laboratory Services.
